Both the Tifosi and the Diamondback have rack mounts front and rear, so no need for bikepacking. Not that I'd buy either as a touring bike, mind you.

The other problem is failure. If I overload a carbon frame I'm out >£1000; I almost certainly can't accidentally overload a Straggler, TdF, etc.
Even worrying about it falling over. Steel could take a dent and keep going for thousands of miles, a crack in carbon could be instant game over
