Many years back when I was up North I used to commute part of the same route as the school bus to/from Todmorden (think Royston Vasey but with less sunlight).
Shoes and bags used to come out of the windows often. The windows also used to come out pretty often (the big window at the back of the top deck falling out was a bit concerning), more than once a person came out of a window and one time a double seat came out of the emergency exit at the back.
This was all viewed as fairly standard with the explanation that it's the Tod bus.
