  • Hey Guys,

I'm looknig for a new digital camera body, preferbly nikon as i can use my old ais lenses.

Does anyone know of a nikon model that is very easy to shoot with and can be used almost like a nikon FE film camera. Like real time exposure, so i can see as i change the aperture on my lens how that effects the picture etc. I borrowed an entry level nikon and it was difficult to use and it didnt do that, it was after every picture i could see.

Im not a newbie to photography, but not sure how I can find this out!

..you mean you change the aperture and "it gets darker", but you can check the depth of field with the chosen aperture?
This is usually done via DOF preview button on modern cameras.
I think you don't have one on the newer (four-digit) entry level Nikon bodies.
The old (two digit) ones (like D90) have it, and the newer pro (single-digit) and three-digit (like D600) have it (or you can program a "Fn" button to behave like one).
