Altho the 901 is the best 911 shape,
I believe this is the prettiest Porsche ever made.

This bloke seems to enjoy making Porsche bits out of solid billets:

Are they matched to the head?

Daepoo matiz.

Er the Matiz means his taste has gone from amazing to wtf.

Matiz are crap, and probably only worth a couple of hundred. However, I am told that they are excellent in snow and they are the cheapest car to insure.
I bought one for Bobbinbird when she wanted to learn to drive. It cost me about £350.
It was good enough. Didn't keep it for long though. -

IIRC Autocar refused to give the Matiz a rating in their standard car review as it rolled over when they reversed it and applied half a turn of lock, and Daewoo refused to accept that this was, dynamically, sub-optimal.

Hive mind.
The old girl (b8 a4) has developed a hum in the left rear above 40mph.
No obvs tyre / wheel issues. Is FWD.
Thoughts? Bearing? CV Joint? 😬

Have managed to find a v70R in the most auspicious of colour ways (saffron) being broken. Have got all bumpers, bonnet, full interior including all plastics and fuel pump fot the princely sum of 300 quid. Alas it is in fucking Middlesborough. Road trip it is then.

front wheel drive, must be the bearings right?

Someone mentioned a stone in the pad / wheel also but its more of a vibration I think... Better take it in. 😂

Idler pulley on my 2011 Legacy (diesel) v belt looks to be on the way out, doesn't look like a difficult DIY replacement, anything I should be wary of?

Chaps would anyone be able to give me a little help or guidance here?
I have a 2007 Land Rover Discovery Commercial and I hated the stock cloth seats, genuinely uncomfortable back breakers and I do about 100k km a year so not good.
I've swapped in a set of BMW E46 seats in red leather and made up the appropriate adaptors to go between seats and bases and they fit great and are super comfortable. Here's my problem though...
- I can't figure out how to wire the BMW seatbelt pretensioners to the Land Rover wiring loom.
- I can't figure out what to do with the Land Rover loom to "blank" the side airbags that used to be in the Land Rover seats but aren't in the BMW seats. Thus I have a permanently on airbag warning light which is pretty annoying and means I have to swap the seats back over every year for the DOE (Irish commercial test)...
Any ideas on where I could find this information? It can't be any more difficult than finding out which wires to splice together for the pretensioner surely and then providing some sort of resistance in place of the airbag sensor?

for the airbag light:
You could probably do it cheaper yourself but that's a good starting point

For the former issue, I think most people would try and fit the OEM seatbelts to the new seats, thus eliminating the need for a pre-tensioner adapter.

Yeah, but Elmer's 4L 968 billet engine has very little non-billet, and makes 1500bhp in track spec: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWyu4to4jws

Yeah I think I tried the swap when I fitted the seats and there was a reason it didn't work out but I think I'll have to have a peep and revisit it... I think it was something simple like bolt compatibility but it would be worth either having to retap a thread or add a new nut... I'll look into it now anyway as I'm just about to swap the seats back in after the annual test and want to take action before I sit in comfort for another year and end up in the same spot this time next year.
Cheers on the resistor too, they look like they'll do the job perfectly! Probably would be cheaper to pop to Maplins/ RS Radionics but I've enough other projects on to appreciate a quick fix!

Just had a quick look online, it looks like both LR and BMW have complicated harness connectors on the loom side, but on the pre-tensioner side it's a simple 3 wire connector. I can't find a decent wiring diagram but it looks like you should be able to snip the BMW connector off and solder the original LR connector on. Then when the LR ECU sends a signal, it gets received by the BMW pre-tensioner because it's most likely just a 0 or + voltage type scenario.

I've just rediscovered how the issue is actually to do with the fitment of the LR pretensioner on the BMW seat... easily resolved with a few washers on the bolt and it's still secured by the BMW locating wedge so I think that's that!

Been watching some of this mx5 ls swap. The guy's ATD and workshop cleanliness is epic. Reminds me of Todd from Breaking Bad though.

Wheel bearing fo sho. Does them increase with the speed?
We have a diesel. I've read about common issues with the injectors, but was hoping we were done after changing all brakes, big service with cam belt, multi belt and water pump change. And a set of new winter tyres...
Fingers crossed it's an iffy sensor, but for some reason I doubt it
