Commonly used by fat bikers in properly cold conditions but good if you don't want to wear gloves, or suffer from cold hands, in the more temperate conditions we get here. There's a drop bar version too, but those do limit you to the hoods.

    Only issue is they did take ages to turn up, spring may well have sprung by the time they make it to these shores. If you're handy with a sewing machine I'd imagine they're dead simple to make.

  • Thanks, unless the weather takes a turn for the worse I think you're right, too late for this year.
    I needed some new windproof gloves off as my beloved Specialized Element 1.5 are coming towards the end of their life, after 4 years of hard use. The best features about them was the windstopper backing, kept the wind off perfectly and no extra bulky insulation, that and the longer elasticated cuff, to tuck into your sleeve.
    Just stopped off at Evans and got some Altura Thermo Elite, seem to fit the bill, but I doubt they'll last like the Elements did.
