Are these the black or the blue/white? I have both in XL, and the blue/white are noticeably tighter and trickier to get on. They are fine once on though, especially in the riding position - it's just that the straps are somehow much less stretchy. (I think the black are the original model and the blue/white the II).

And you get on with them the same on the bike?
I tried them on again earlierand wasn’t quite so worried about ripping them.

I've only used the IIs a couple of times, but no problems so far - like you I was a bit worried about tearing the straps at first, but as long as I take care putting them on I reckon I'll be fine.
