What time is it? Watches and horology

I want to like the Ploproff, but struggle somewhat. Probably doesn’t help that I strongly dislike chain mail straps.

Watchfinder knocked a bit off the price of a 2803 Railmaster, there’s no papers or box. Is £2500 still a bit much? I have totally fallen in love with it.

without box and papers, possibly.
Having said that there aren't many around, and the new one is almost deliberately elusive.

It was one hell of a watch for £500 and it is one hell of a watch for £1000 too. Missed it since the day I sold it.

I'm a collector of divers at the end of the day. They're the watches I like most.

Maybe a bit rich but you do get a 12 month warranty with it which is worth a small premium in itself.

And as ejay says, they aren't coming up too often now days. Its not a crazy price for a watch you love.

As I may have mentioned ....I have a Ploprof coming in next week. The daddy of desk divers!!

So got myself the Seiko sk007 very pleased with it but may go down the modification route with a different bezel as there is a couple of shops here in hk that do nice bits. 1st new proper watch. Need to change the strap too as don't like the rubber diver one. Everyday work wearer v happy with it.
Anyone done mods on a watch ???
