The tyre has to come off if you're using anchovies anyway, unless you want to risk stabbing your rim tape etc. when try to get the little blinders in. Also, no matter how close you trim the finished anchovy, you feel the bump each revolution.
Having tried all the other methods, glueless patch is by far the quickest and pleasant solution. Cheaper too.
Following the latest non-sealing puncture, I had the realisation that all I actually need was this, a glueless patch on the inside of the tyre (having dried down and sanding the offending area, obvs).
Fuck those anchovies and mushrooms.
