  • I can only imagine a piece of glass or a discarded stanley blade. Either could have fucked off sharpish under a car afterwards but I reckon you would have heard the crunch of glass if it were that.

  • What's going on with that chain?

  • Ah, it had come off when I found it. And bars weren't straight. And the front tyre was flat. And brakes were disconnected.

Edit: Also, gusts were 50mph up here in Edinburgh today!

  • Such a shit cycle in this morn. So many #doublecunt -s

  • Cycled to work on my resurrected dale f1000. 2.1 tyres. Suspension. Cushy! :)

Only marred by an utter plonker cyclists racing on kerb, and hopping off/on to avoid red lights, squeezing through gaps. In a hurry to die or get slapped perhaps...

  • Anyone lost an Ortlieb rear pannier? Spotted one that looked in decent condition sitting on its own on Loampit Vale / Lewisham way.

Would have stopped to investigate but was running for a train.

  • This morning I was behind a van approaching some lights. They went amber and so obviously the van driver put his foot down and got through on red. I stopped, but the Porsche driver behind me decided to shoot past me and through the red as well. Is there a way of reporting these things that does not involve the long and tedious police form? I got video.

  • not mine but at what time? I passed between 8:45-9.

  • Must have been c. 7.55AM. Was just next to some bin bags, just after "Everest Curry King" I think. Was open, so looked like a stolen and discarded job.

Regretting not stopping to investigate now, but I was late for work.

  • The police form (online) only takes about 2min to fill out. Well, it does for me because I've done it so many times.

  • First cycle commute since October. Woo. #fatslow

  • Signs of spring this morning? As I rounded the corner onto the Embankment by Lots Road, the glorious sunshine that greeted me was powerful enough to warm my cheeks (the ones on my face).

  • Everest Curry King

    Best takeaway curry ever!

  • just saw this - which made me think of your comment

  • Yessir! So damn cheap as well.

It's worryingly close to my house.

  • Cut up at the lights by numpty taking my line at the last minute.
Email his head office and get this reply

    Hi

I believe we have now tracked the driver and will address your complaint with him.

Thank you for informing us of this incident.

    Kind regards

    Details removed.

  • Perhaps redact the details of a person who is doing the right thing!

  • who? helen?

    why?

  • Previously showed her employer

  • Commuter racer kept jumping all the lights, only for me to over take, stop at the lights and then he'd sail past again.

At one set he passed and I muttered "fucking idiot" just as he tried to put power into his pedals, but he unclipped and had a groin/top tube interaction. Was disappointed to discover when I got to work that my camera hadn't been recording this morning's commute.

  • It had what I presume is her office phone number and fax (lol). I don't know, I wouldn't want my office phone number posted on a random internet thread really

  • I'm going to start shouting at RLJs. I can feel the angry half-blind driver eyes on my back when someone does it next to me. I wave my arms at them already but I'm going to step it up to the next level

Edit: it's still January and I don't have any other resolutions so that'll be my new one

  • Fackinell! That's a bit more serious than my thing this morning.

  • 2 mins? blimey. Last time I did it (non cycling related) it took ages. Mind you, there were about six perps to describe.
