  • You could try the thumb below your fingers - I forget the name of this grip (old age). I use this grip and it is an improvement over the normal grip. You get used to it quite quickly.
    Also, you can improve you grip with these -

  • Won't you crush your thumb on the bar?

    It's not so much that I'm losing grip yet, it's just the bar tearing my callused hands up after repeated reps.
