I had a bog standard 1.8 saloon.
Always wanted a GTI or big turbo diesel.

I met her for a drink at the end of 2016, might say hello again in April when I'm out there next.
Her mother once propositioned me, which was something of a surprise, and something that I will never tell her.

Why would they charge $12000 to fix a leaking rocker cover gasket? Take it to a good local indy.
-
• #39960
Because they are Audi. My normal mechanic can do it for $300. Just depends on Audi requirements... They'll only pay for my engine if I follow their rules.

The guy who has this also has a turbo diesel nearly finished. Can't wait to get down and check the car out

I should also add that there's on major issue with the 505... It's a 3 speed slugomatic. But I'll either throw in a 4 speed or go for a full manual conversion. I think though that an auto actually suits the car. Will see how it handles 10 hours on the motorway.

Research for my resetting clock and trip computer tells me a new battery might be in order with voltage dropping low enough to reset somethings but not so low it won't start. Makes sense being a 14yo car with only 22,000 miles.
Other research recommends a Bosch jobbie at 52ah. Any reason not to just buy the cheapest example of that model I can find?

Also enjoyed watched the Carpervert mower review this morning.

Glad it was recommissioned for the road. Sitting in that dark garage for decades ironically it wasn't being appreciated out of the financial context. I've seen those mower videos but never watched them, might have to now.

• #39974
Maybe, for funs. but in reality the 505 is quite light on it's feet and it'd be a bad thing to overpower it. A turbo 4 pot would be perfect.
