  • Definitely harder than in April when I did this ride last year. Don't know how you all dealt with the wet cold with only half the clothing I had on.
It was worth it even just for that bit between the first and second puncture stop after lunch.
Thanks all, especially YAL and Chris, so much gratitude
    I need a shower

  • Winter sun tan.

    That was well ‘ard.

  • Ha! Well earned

  • A hard day in January was had

  • I've got a lot of respect for everyone who managed to finish, conditions were hard but as a group I think we rode well together and everyone embraced the spirit of the ride - not that we had much choice. Big respect to the people who did big turns on the front, bought pints, tea, etc.

I actually had a great time despite experiencing cold hands like I've never had before whilst riding reasonably hard. It was a privilege to ride with a good bunch of fixieskiddahs, it's been a while.

    Oli xoxo

  • Nice meeting you all.

  • My gawd was someone brakless?!

  • I assume that was @Thuekr himself

  • Yeah @Thuekr . He was last year as well.

  • It didn’t chuck it down with rain last year

  • I also had a nicely awful day (or is it an awfully nice day. I don't know). I think that's the longest I've ever ridden in the cold & wet by some margin, and as such many lessons were learned.

Thanks to @clubman for the Voiture d'Assistance, @youramericanlover for the org, @jaeyukdapbap for the ride out, @Ruserius for the pints, and thanks all for the excellent company and good spirits in spite of the conditions.

  • anyone bernard hinault their fingers?

  • Not on this one, but happened to me on a previous ride. No sensation on the tips for a few days after 50 km of blizzard with too thin gloves.

  • Huge respect to you guys for going out yesterday. I went out for a spin but bailed after an hour due to the truly hideous weather. Chapeau a tous. And I'll be coming next year.

  • doesn't look so hard. everyone looks too happy!

great work getting this done yesterday. it was grim out there!

  • Great photos!

What's the story with the car with the pump on top?

  • Thank you.

That's @clubman 's service car at the top of Christmas Hill I believe.
At his point we had just had a critical puncture that made everybody cold right before the hill and a couple while ascending it, so we ended up splitting the group so some could continue to the cafe ahead of the rest. This is what is being discussed in the photo while @cgg is fixing a slow puncture.

  • You were lucky (!) with the weather. It’s snowing like crazy here now...

  • looks damp - good effort for the ride.

  • You guys are machines! Kudos for everyone riding that horrible day yesterday. Wish i could have joined by my lungs just recovered and my fitness atm the moment is embrassing!
@Thuekr you're a mental as ever! Hope @youramericanlover got you another cog reward to take back home as the beast you are!

  • Really enjoyed those pics and the reports. They're inspiring me to cobble together a similar bike which is always a worry.

  • too cold for the 2CV?
