It actually feels really great to ride with that new front wheel on. If I sort out the dodgy headset, dial in the braking, maybe swap the tyres for knobblies and put in a few more miles to make sure there's no serious problems with the frame (I found it outside my flat) I'd have absolutely no problem taking out for an overnight bikepacking trip or a long gravel grind. 1x with bar ends is like the dream gravel setup anyway. Only thing it really could do with is disk brakes but for now I'm not willing to spend the money to have them added.

I think it will look better the harder and further you ride it. By which I mean, you'll think less about how it looks, but the sight of it will bring a warm sense of pride.
