  • @BRM looks too nice. Honestly, don't think I could bring myself to race something so pretty.

  • Incentive not to get it wrong.

  • Everyone cheats anyway.

    I imagine so

  • Can you super polish the bottom end?

    Now, now.

  • It's just metalwork and paint - it can all be put back to perfect. The MGB probably more easily than any car out there.

We needed a solution to the fucking rot box that was the red car, and this was it. Sure, if we sorted the body on it and painted it, it wouldn't be as good as this, but it make you less scared to race? I don't know.

  • Spirit and letter of the rules.

I quite fancy a40 racing. Cheapish and the engines are all the same as they come from one supplier.

  • The red car look sorted, but was quite shocking.

  • All the same cars, though. I'm not interested in that. I reckon it is partly about the driving, partly about the tinkering and partly about the variety of other cars, so we picked the cheapest way to race with some pretty special grids.

  • Very true, would personally find it hard to fully commit knowing how lovely it looks. Fair play though you're living the dream and from the looks of it doing a great job.

  • Cheap and racing....Ha ha ha ;) The A40 was something that appealed to me as it was cheap, thought about 2cv racing. Thinking of getting a fulvia racing again. Dawning realization that I'm not as good as I was. So use the excuse of no money, better than to admit the truth.

Hope you have fun. If I can help.

  • That is racing.

  • Being in the same field as some of the other cars in Historic Touring Cars will no doubt be incredible. Very jealous.

  • Once the red mist descends, concerns for the paintwork go out the window anyways. Can't have a proper race car with out a little battle patina...

  • ?

Actually it had a Bimmer engine.

  • Top pic looks like they masked off half the rear of the car?

  • I’m sure it makes sense to them!

  • Base for this

  • it's guide coat used to indicate the surface quality of the car when they rub it back

  • The shoestring Range Rover lives to fight another year.

I am going to treat it to a new wheel bearing, window regulator and getting one of the body mounts repaired in return.

  • Had a card from an old school friend who owns a garage in Littlehampton. He's bought himself an ex nascar, 1999 pontiac. He'll be at brands in June so going to catch up with him.

  • That's quite bold, which very much works in its favour. Aren't you going for a more subtle flavour overall? And why so cheap?

  • ^^thats cool
