  • Ha! Sideways will happen. Not sure about a victory. Maybe a class win, on a snowy day at croft or somewhere like that when no-one else turns up...

The target (by rapidly diminishing probability):

    1. Finish
    2. Don’t finish last
    3. Finish ahead of where I started
  • with filters on and an airbox, probably not much noisier, also helps it's all a distance behind you

mine is only loud because the airbox is about 300mm behind the steering wheel effectively

  • Hmm, just reading a thread where the driver won't get in the car without earplugs and a helmet, which would be annoying.

  • In my experience of ITBs, pretty noisy if you're giving it the beans, not so noisy if you're just cruising. If you're concerned about it, just stick some extra soundproofing on the rear bulkhead inside the cabin.

  • RS6 service update. Bad news - the oil leak is the dreaded dry sump pump seal. Usually an engine out job to fix. Good news - it's not too bad and doesn't need doing yet. Bad news - one of the rear DRC suspension hydraulic lines needs replacing, so that's another 500 quid please sir thank you kindly. Should be ready on Monday.

I don't have a roof in the conventional sense, so share the same environment as the engine in some ways, hence my question.

  • Wait, are you spending all this money on cabriolet?!?

  • sorry

  • They’re really fucking noisy on my car.

  • Could it be temporarily fixed with some oil additive? It fixed the oil leak on my w124 completely

  • Not sure I want to risk it. The cost of replacing the seal is a lot, but the cost of replacing the engine is truly Biblical.

  • Got the 9-3 tracking done today, didn't know they could adjust the rears as well....was wandering a little bit, so I'll find out over the weekend if it's made a difference. Took them 40 minutes though

  • With new wheels!

  • There must be some mistake, can't seem to see a roof?

  • Gonna need a drip tray.

  • Sweet!

What bumpers are you going with? And sorry if I missed it but what's the engine?

  • Recently acquired one of these- future project...

  • Bumpers? It’s a racing car...

Engine is limited by the series. +40”, forged pistons, free cam and head. 3/4” SUs and that pretty much it.

  • Need to fit the screen and the cage before the hard top goes on.

[edit -wait a minute, are you sulking? :) I’ll take my whoosh over here...]

  • I think they were called a brumby in Aus. Awesom

  • There is some stuff that frosts sell that you rub on the outside so seals the weep. Or clean the area well and a use fernox LSX.

  • Can you super polish the bottom end?

  • They can really rust...

Initially, in the UK, the Subaru was sold by agricultural equipment suppliers.
