  • Not really a project as it just needs a good clean.

  • Yours looks good, should get the alfine cranks next. Mine could do with loosing some weight, Hmmm I wonder if you can still get that fork...

    Brakes ok btw?

  • I've just fitted a spare UN55 and a surly chainring - keeping the stock cranks. They're fine and like the limitless reliability of the square taper bb. Makes the most sense for commuting imo.

    Brother do a carbon 1 1/8 fork.

Rear is ok, had to replace the front with a deore.

  • Nicely done. Just bought an Equilibrium for commuting duties hopefully picking it up this afternoon /csb

  • I've used the cheap digital ones and they're pretty shit. Even the Park one isn't great. Similar to @Jonny69 I have second hand Mitutoyo (non-digital). Solid.

  • Rode this into the countryside today

  • Just finished this (beside needing a black saddle). Rides like a charm...maybe this will get slicks and fenders in spring for touring. Obviously needs NDS shoot...

  • You could possibly get away with just using a dark leather balm to colour in the saddle if you're not committed to the brown colour.

  • Ha, perfect - very good idea...thanks!

  • Is that two bikes? Or is it green on one side and purple on the other?

  • One schizophrenic bike. Green on the left, purple on the right (and white in the middle)...
Solves the n+1 problem, the moment you need a new bicycle, just turn it around.

  • I had a few mins spare at work, so modified the helmet mount to work as a fork mount.

  • Thats good thinking! I can;t do that on mine due to the rack and basket the cable for the controller is too short.

  • Even the Park one isn't great.

Just a rebranded version of what you can buy on eBay.

Oh, and literally ten times the price.

    Usual Park Tool bollocks.

  • Is that a Shimangnolo setup? 10 speed shifters 8 speed block by any chance?

Hard to tell from the photos.

  • Yep, Park Tool can be really hit and miss. I'm always a bit disappointed when a workshop has exclusively park tool kit. They're not the best at everything. Far from it.

  • Thanks, @Gaston

  • Wow! That is just lovely, envious.

  • Equilibrium will be a great bike, one thing I've decided though is winter in Yorkshire can be very expensive unless you run a single speed and accept squeaky discs for the winter months.

  • Yepp, Shimergo setup. 10spd brifters with 8/3 xt/lx MTB parts. Works really well, fourth bike running similiar. Shifting is great, maybe 1-2 gear won't shift 100% spot on (in terms of racing, not touring), but you can tune this to be the smallest sprockets. BTW, anyone any experiences with the 11/9 combination?

  • I have those same shifters and in my experience they don't shift that great as 10 speed campag either. I'm gonna convert mine to 8 speed shim at some point. Done with campag.

  • You mean 10 or 11 spd shifters? As said, the Shimergo setup is working really well on four bikes. For me that's the best reliable (and cheap) combination for touring and commuting...and i prefer the look and ergonomy of the ergos.
