First like is overpriced and has bad pitting to the case back. Dial is either non-original or is a re-dial as it is too fresh. Not sure what the “Omega” typeface was in ‘58 but earlier “A” letters have a flat top. Strap is fake.
Second is over-polished and has a repainted dial. Auto rotor shows some wear to edge which indicates excessive play.

Funny that this has come up because I was going to ask about these today.
As I mentioned a while back I, along with my sisters, are looking to buy our dad a watch for his 60th in April. I know that he's love an old Seamaster and even more so a birth year watch (tall order I know). We've got a reasonably small budget (1000CAD so about 600 GBP at the minute) and I wanted to know if I was barking up the wrong tree looking for a nice late 80's Seamaster at that price. If anyone has some tips of what to look out for and a way of accurately gauging what year something is from it would be amazingly useful!

Obviously top end of our budget but is this the kind of patina I should expect at this price range?
