  • Thanks, will have a proper look and message you if so.

  • IT says 4nm max. Paste won't do anything as it only clamps just at the top, it's a crap design.

It is a poor design and I had some grief initially, but as Tstr says: "torque by the book".

I tried three different torque wrenches, with three different results.

If your wrench has a broad range, then consider something more specific from a recognised torque-boss, rather than a something rebranded from a bike-boss.

  • It is a poor design

Which they somehow managed to make even worse in 2013 :)

  • Which they somehow managed to make even worse in 2013 :(

    FTFY :)

  • I’ve owned my p2 from new in c.2010, the seatpost slipped badly for the first year but was fixed by a liberal application of carbon paste. Paste and 4nm and it hasn’t slipped in years now.

  • Okay thanks all. Cleaned it, roughed lacquer, carbon paste and 4nm done. We’ll see.

  • Just for context all the top finishers in the NRHR over the last few years have run disc rear and front 50-60 deep or so. There is a real benefit in the latter half of the circuit. Just watch the potholes as I’m sure there’ll be a few about. We’ll do our best with clearing corners etc, last year had to move fallen bushes and shovel/sweep mud off road too

  • Thanks for the info. Think I’ll be running that exact setup, though I won’t be bothering the top finishers.

There were temp traffic lights around the course last week. I assume they’ll be gone though as it didn’t look like very serious work.

  • Thanks for heads up on temp lights, if they are at railway bridge on Darnicle Hill there is possibility may still be there as due to finish 3rd March. (Just checked on roadworks.org) May be a revised/shorter course which is becoming a regular occurrence!

  • Nice bit of paper

  • Going for 25 in 2018?

  • Was going for 25 in 2017. Taking 2018 off from TT, though I might dabble in road TT.

  • Can I have your bike?

  • My sweet fixie?

  • Sick skidz on my commutz takin' all ur stravaz!

  • Circuit TTs then?

  • No, like National 12 but on a road bike

  • I’m looking for a new base bar, prob aluminium so I can clamp things nice and tight. Ideally with a bit of a drop and square ends.

I got a set of the Pro Missile ones pictured, but the clamping area is too narrow for me to achieve the required pad width.

Any ideas/suggestions? If not I will prob get the Vuka Alumina which is just missing the drop.

  • Vision Trimax alloy sloping has lots of drop and looks like wider round section for extension clamps. Lacks the square ends, the crabon one is closer but 3 times the price

  • So, V718 banned now?...

  • @cjr what clips do you use? Could you extend them to get the desired width?

  • I’ve got the 3T ones, I have my elbows quite wide so even right out, it’s a couple of cm to narrow.

I should add, I have a perfectly good set of flat vision trimax ones. Just fancy a change and prefer the aesthetic of the Pro ones.
