Only just found this thread. I picked up a Giant Peloton Superlite late last year.
Running Sora groupset at the minute.
Looking to stick some Mavic Aksium wheels on there.

Need a new headset as well, anyone recommend any? Before I spend moneys on a Chris King?

Last question, is it worth investing into old bikes? Im torn between investing in this and just buying something new haha! Its such a smooth ride though!

That headset costs the same as CK but has zero resale value.

Yes, it is worth investing in steel, modern or retro. This thread should give you some ideas and how much some people actually invest in steel frames. A nice frame build with quality and attention to detail is a good start to any proper modern parts/retro frame build.

Mario Vaz will do my cold setting for twenty quid, which sounds more winningy.

But, chatting to Lincoln at BC and he and @hillbilly raised concerns about cold setting a chrome plated rear triangle.

Could it cause the chrome to flake?

Does anyone have any knowledge? @tonyme?

I guess because chroming leaves acid inside the tubes so they might be less strong than they appear.

Poor @mashton first he is L and now no cold setting because Acid.

If the plater leaves metal-weakening acid inside the tubes they’re doing it wrong.

@mashton can't help you there buddy. Sounds like a fair deal regarding the cold setting anyways.
