This kind of thing is why I’m in a bit of a rut at the moment - it feels like all I can see is what Instagram and its ilk want me to see, rather than seeing for myself. I need to figure out a way to reset my eyes...

On the subject of cameras, I picked this up on eBay the other day for £8 with a jammed shutter.
I lifted the mirror with my finger, flooded the shutter with lighter fuel, pointed the camera at the floor and opened the shutter in bulb mode. I then stuck it in burst mode and did about 200 actuations.
It's been great ever since
Hoorah for poundland lighter fuel, keeping my records dust free, lighting my cigars and now providing me with massive heavy cameras!
6.3mp but all of them very big. I was slightly disappointed that it's only aps size but hey ho for£8 one can't go far wrong

Those are huge pixels... Should have lovely tones and 6.3mp is total overkill for instagram :)

Indeed, I'm really impressed with the way it handles light and I'm not planning to print any posters!

In my experience you can get away with printing up to about A3-size with around 6mp.
Still, about the cheapest DSLR I've heard of.
