My Surly CrossCheck clocked 20,000 miles this morning. It's gone through 3 sets of Phil Wood bearing in the rear hub in that time. I started recording miles against on strava at the start of November 2015.
Edit, I was going to upload a photo, but it keeps failing.

Dreadful Photo, but you get the idea. The notorious Surly decals got washed off bit, but bit.
and I'm embarrassed to say that seat post is seized seatpost :( but its at the right height :)

Feels good too now.

Yeah, climbed well with the 2.4a but not quite so nice in the corners. diameter of the horizons behaved better even if the tyres themselves sucked.
Will stick to 26 when I do it up again.

Anybody got a spare pair of canti studs knocking about? I think they're specific to Surly frames and use a 1mm pitch.
-
• #846
Unsure if the studs are actually specific size or not. Thought it was a fairly standardised part through the bicycle industry on modern frames.
Brixton bikes might be worth trying, also worth a go is http://www.charliethebikemonger.com he might have some take-offs in a box somewhere.
I can take a photo of mine against a ruler for scale but they are from a 2011 spec Karate Monkey, i don't have anything else to screw them into to check size and fitment.
Sorry but keeping mine as i can run any wheelset. -

I'd be surprised if they were proprietary.
There are 2 threads that are commonly used I think, m8 and m10 maybe.
Your lbs will probably have a few sets of studs kicking about the workshop somewhere that you try.

Ok so I had a look and the 1mm pitch might make them a bit harder to come by, seems most are 1.25mm pitch but I found these ti ones,
These,
are 1.25mm pitch for the m8 version and 1mm pitch for the m10 ones. And they are 1/3 the price of the ti ones and UK stock so won't take 3 months to get to you.

Only ones i can see on SJS 99p each in M10 or M8

I almost ruined the threads on my frame to force a generic (1.25 I'm guessing - the seller didn't specify) m10 in. A quick Google and I came up with this

I hadn't even clocked that there were different standards. Oh wait this is the bike industry...
Anyway cheers for the link @M_V I've ordered a pair to try. I will report back presently.
My very early 1x1
