Nice, but only available as a limited edition from the Amsterdam store, no?
-
• #3703
Probably but I’ll ask around and need to do some more research before I commit to buying one.

First lesson learnt. Dont ride on grids or manhole covers.

• #3705
It got the old bottom bracket, that recalled one
-
• #3706
Any spare bottom bracket outers?
Also do the latest bromptons have better brake calipers than before?
-
• #3707
Not really, the pads are no longer cartridge despite the brake itself having Allen bolt instead of nuts.
-
• #3708
Stiffer and look better, 1 brake covers front and rear and £30 for black .. not gold option. plus the addition of 5mm allen key fixing bolt, better suited pad shape for the small rims ..
Id say that is an improvement.

correct!

dislike!
Bromptons best feature is that they are genuinely usable work horses ... not set up like that though ..

Finally got my brompton back from storage.
And it’s time to update it as it’s an early pre 2000 model. Everythings stock so I’ll be putting new brake calipers and I’ll need a new wheel set (rims are worn).
Will this 3-speed wheel set from SJSCycles fit?
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/wheelswheelsets/sjsc-for-brompton-3-speed-super-light-wheel-set-black/
Or is the spacing or axle diameter different. (I remember the front wheel used 13mm wheel nuts). -

Anyone using a front light that mounts not on the bars, somewhere lower?
-
• #3713
I told you to go dynamo
-
• #3714
^ this is not dynamo
-
• #3716
Except the pads are one piece rather than cartridge, thus no insert.

Does anyone know of anywhere that hires Brompton travel cases in London?
I've got a couple days in Dublin for work next week, tempted to take my Brompton to get around easier and explore in the evenings.
-
• #3718
extremely weird.. I just came to ask if anyone was willing to lend me one.. to take to dublin for work next week...
-
• #3719
What sector do you work in? I'm there for a trade show Monday-Wednesday
-
• #3720
I have one of these https://www.vincita.co.th/products/b132b-soft-transport-bag-for-brompton-bike (well @Cazakstan has it at the moment but should be able to get it from me or her) if anyone wants to borrow it.
It's a soft bag but I've flown to the states with it (plus some bubble wrap and clothes to pad stuff out) a few times with no problem. It fits as a standard checked suitcase at check-in.

• #3721
That would be perfect

• #3722
tech, we just have an office there, no excitement for me

Brompton World Championship entries are open. Did it last year and it was a lot of fun. Would be great to have a LFGSS team...
-
• #3724
I've entered

Hope the weather's better this year, got bl**dy soaked last year!
So the idea of a Brompton is back on the table, especially after my visit to Condor cycles this afternoon, liking some of the paint jobs. Especially the light grey and the raw lacquer (which looks more gun metal)
Also another finiteresting read regarding ‘lightweight’ Brompton (ugly af):
