They want a Dutch judge to press the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to clarify their rights."
In a way I hope they succeed but:

"It would take out of their hands the question of what rights UK citizens would enjoy after Brexit.
"Those rights would no longer be a matter of political gift - EU law would continue to guarantee EU citizenship rights to those who are UK citizens at the date of Brexit. It would, potentially, weaken their position at the negotiating table."
Now I don't think rights should be up for negotiation, but Theresa May started this whole bullshit as the EU offered all rights, but the UK didn't want to agree to that as it means doing the same for EU immigrants in the UK, and it was all about reducing immigration for Maybot and her team.
So, it may weaken the position of EU immigrants in the UK again. I'm thinking the EU will do the right thing anyway, as they already forced a lot of concessions from the UK. But it's politics which can be nasty at times.
