A steel touring frame, Mafac racers, framebuilder and a painter, 650b rim brake rims would be expensive, rest is relatively 'cheap'.

Get the real deal on Troc-Velo for cheap, it's not like you are going to find an alternative in Columbus Life.

halo
Got some pitlock ones, hopefully will be some sort of deterrent at least.

This is a major consideration, the bike below is a close to perfect conversion. I'd be suer happy with an outcome like that.

How tall are you? And does it need to be 650b?

There's this too

For centerpulls. But some old frame might be better. There's usually plenty of interesting things at hilarystone.com.

I'm 5'10" so would be looking for a 54cm sq frame ideally.
Because of the frame size I'd really like it to be 650b to keep the proportions sweet.

That’s lovely.
Here’s mine. My original plan was to get some canti bosses brazed as well but haven’t done that yet.
Only downside is the French bottom bracket which doesn’t give me a wide choice of chainsets but I can live with that.

I never leave chainset choice to my wife, she’s too practical.

Argh, new page!

hahaha, fixed.

This one that Maglia Rosa in NYC built up really does it for me. It's a custom frame that they import from some builder in Italy. If only it was Campy instead of Shimano, but then maybe it wouldn't appear as functional? I don't know. Shimano shifters are bunk, fight me.

A more traditional looking crankset and silver mudguards and it'd be dreamy.

You could also mount a frame lock on the frame, technically she wouldn't be carrying it :-) a frame lock is pretty damn handy

Yeah makes sense

+1
Can't get behind the different mudguards... I don't understand why they made an entire fender when all we wanted was eyelets.
