  • Just stick a bit of wood under it or get a Real Man™ to clamp it for you. :P
Used carbon paste on it? Maybe you're too fat for a Cervelo? ;)

  • IT says 4nm max. Paste won't do anything as it only clamps just at the top, it's a crap design.

I'll shim it again and get it solid, but I'm just nervous it might slip again at a bad moment.

  • Bah, Zipp stuff says 4Nm max and mine probably double that to stop them rotating. It worked.

    (don't tell Zipp warranty dept)

  • Seriously though, can you fit something in the "seat tube" so that it won't fall? It's what people were doing to the PX Stealth frames.

    Also, are the bolts lubed?

It is a poor design and I had some grief initially, but as Tstr says: "torque by the book".

I tried three different torque wrenches, with three different results.

If your wrench has a broad range, then consider something more specific from a recognised torque-boss, rather than a something rebranded from a bike-boss.

  • I’ve owned my p2 from new in c.2010, the seatpost slipped badly for the first year but was fixed by a liberal application of carbon paste. Paste and 4nm and it hasn’t slipped in years now.
