I was also one of the £19.99ers last year. Account says it will auto-renew in Jan but not at what price - anyone had there's renew already? Does it renew for the new cheap price (£29.99) or full price (£??)?

I've had an email claiming mine will auto-renew on Monday for £29.99, but in my account settings it's still stating the annual price is £59.99. To compound the issue, I've also used Velocio's tip to stop PayPal from taking repeat subscription payments, so I've got no idea what's going to happen!

mine has give me nothing, it just said "no subscription" and i have had no emails

Pay thirty quid to listen to Carlton Kirby talk utter horse drivel?

Pay thirty quid to watch the uninterrupted direct footage on mute at work :)

Mine gives me no subscription details and an end date too. I also emailed their customer service to check and mine just ends on the nominated date with no renewal. It was via credit card rather than PayPal.

Yup they tried to renew everyone on the 15th Jan - on whatever deal you got last year.
They sent a variation of your contract to you.
I made a subject access request - this is what they do with your data:
Client SDK
Location coordinates are captured by the client application at session initialization, passed to the SDK, which in turn passes it to services. The services use location to zip/region, which is leveraged for blackout rules and to localize the EPG information.
The SDK does not retain location information.
Apple
Stores location in memory.
The location data is not persisted between sessions, and is otherwise not stored in the device’s local file system.Android
Stores location in memory. Persists the last session location (which happens when the session token is refreshed) as lat/long parameters, stored in shared preferences. The lat/long isn’t cleared out when the user exists the app, though the old location is never used again, since next time the app is opened the session initialization procedure will take place again.
Core Engineering
Stores location coordinates in the application logs for reporting and debugging purposes. This has a retention policy of 5 days.
Please note that going forward we will be turning off GPS location services and instead use IP addresses to confirm actual location.

Same, I was worried they were going to renew at the full rate

I've just been hit with a £60 auto renewal for Eurosport Player. I remember cancelling the auto renewal via PayPal and, having checked my emails, can see confirmation of this back in November 2017. However on the auto renewal page in PayPal is showed the payment as active.
Email from Eurosport says they won't cancel and refund.
My question is what can I do? Is there no cooling off period with a subscription? Are Eurosport within their rights to say no to cancellation?

PayPal dispute?

Seems like they don't have a clue what they're doing. I've emailed their customer support to find out what is happening with mine so I have something to point to if they charge me £60 against my wishes.

Anyone know if you can download content to watch offline yet? Pointless for me otherwise even if it is cheap.

Just tried for the thirty quid Kirby horse drivel option but it didn't work as I've 'used the service before? Subscription page - "Subscription will be active until 30/01/2018.". Helpful.

This. They really don't know what they are doing. They aren't going to remove GPS location tracking until Q2 2018. If they knew anything they might have an alert picking up this thread, but I would bet money that they don't.
I think the only thing to do is work out whether £60 is worth it for you. If not, best just walk away.

No.
You might be better off seeing if it works on 'Sky Go'.

Check your emails.
I don't remember receiving one where I might lose my right to cancel within 14 days.

Thanks for the replies. I've opened a PayPal dispute and if that fails will go down the 14 day route.

So..It turns out I know someone at Discovery..
Without revealing too much, some have lost their job because of the shiteness of the app/service.
Long story short, it will take months. I don't expect it to be ready for the Spring Classics, but let's hope for the Giro... we can but hope but I wouldn't pay £20/£30 or £60 for what is currently offered.
Obviously your call ladies and gents, but walk away is my recommendation, it isn't going to better in the next few weeks tennis fans...

I paid £1.99 for it and am disappointed.
There's no Amazon Fire app, it tries to sign you up for a different service for £5 per month, and using Chromecast it constantly buffers, shows a big bar at the bottom to say what you're watching and the quality is that of a betamax. It may be OK on phone but watching on tv is pretty shit.
-

99p for one month at the moment.
Has the quality improved on the player at all?
-
• #47
It’s HD if that helps
-
• #48
For what its worth, I couldn't get my Amazon Fire Stick to play Eurosport player with any sort of watchable quality so switched to an Apple TV. The quality on that is always HD.

They sent me an email offering £24.99 renewal. I tried to use it but it didn't work. Screw it.

Am i right in thinking it's £29.99 now anyway?
Ehem. This is the deal. 50% dearer then last year.
