  • Paper, ink, taking up space... Just get them printed by a company.

  • Yep for A4 photo paper was coming out at 40p a sheet or so, although there may be cheaper options somewhere.

  • How bad of a deal is a X-Pro2?
Since I broke my RX100M3 exactly a year ago I lusted for a new camera and I somehow ended up winning a XF23 f2 WR on eBay an hour ago so I need a matching body.
The X-T2 also seems to be very cool but I'm keen on trying a rangefinder. Also my flatmate has the X-T2 and we can't have the same :P

  • Is the X-Pro2 a rangefinder? Or is a just rangefinder-style body?

  • its a rangefinder, best bang for the buck in Fuji lineup is XT-20 IMO

  • It just looks and feels like one since it has autofocus I guess. Good enough for me.

@amey X-T20 doesn't have weather sealing, does it? My old camera has seen some rough weather conditions (not heavily pouring rain but windy beaches and still some rain) which would be my guess for why it broke in the first place.

  • X-pro2 isn’t technically a rangefinder because it’s not using a split image to focus manually, but it’s the closest you’ll get to the experience in a body with autofocus.

I don’t use mine as much as I should because I’ve been in a photographic rut recently, but it’s a great camera. An X-Pro2, the 23mm f2 and the 50mm f2 make a pretty good weatherproof walk-around kit.

  • Has anyone here used the RX100 viewfinder with glasses on? I'm at the stage now where I'm just looking for excuses not to buy one over an X100!

  • If you're ready to part with it, I'd be interested :)

@wools I don't have glasses but the M3 had a diopter adjuster so you could use it without glasses.

  • I do, its fine

  • Hah - sorry mate, more keen on figuring a way out of the rut than ditching the camera!

  • I find that I use the F2 23mm the most often of all my lenses, keep wondering about getting the F1.4 23mm as an upgrade. Do you have any experience of the brighter lense?

  • I don’t, it’s supposed to be amazing but it’s also quite large and I went Fuji to have a smaller, less intimidating kit. Fuji also had some interesting comments about the characteristics of the lenses - the F1.4 and the x100 have more character, the f2 is more consistent through the aperture range.

  • Hi guys,

I'm shooting a couple of weddings this year and I'm paranoid about the idea of losing images to a corrupt SD card.

Both of my cameras (Olympus OM-D E-M1 and Nikon DF) only have a single SD card slot.

Is there anything I can do to protect against losing images other than buy a camera with dual slots?

  • Buy new fancy cards beforehand and use them a bit in the run up. Bring your old ones as spares.
Bring a couple of spare batteries and charger.

Do you have a small laptop you can bring to copy the files to a couple of external HDDs?

I wouldn't sweat the technical stuff too much, it would be highly unusual for something like that to go wrong at the perfect moment but shit happens :)

Also, you could rent a dual card slot camera and have something else fail.

  • Oh, and remember to not shoot in jpeg.

  • Ok. Good advice.

I was think that if I setup the laptop and had 4 new cards (bedded in, as you say) and just transfer off the camera to the PC at quiet moments.

  • I'd only transfer images maybe twice at most. Once after the service and once after the reception should be fine. Otherwise you'll be constantly running to your laptop and potentially missing stuff.

  • Can't those new WiFi capable cards send to a nearby laptop as well?

  • I actually came here to ask a question about WiFi SD cards.

I understand how I could use this Ricoh remote control on my phone to drive my camera with a WiFi SD card, in the flat, i.e. via my home broadband router. But would the same setup work outside? Would a WiFi SD card enable direct phone to camera connectivity?

  • That question makes sense to me...

  • I’m pretty sure the Ricoh WiFi goes direct to the phone, no need for a WiFi router

  • That would be great if it does, I’m tempted to get one

  • I've got the latest version of the X100 (X100F?) which is seems to make more sense (from a size perspective) than grabbing the X-pro2+F2 23mm.

Would anyone be interested in my F2 23mm? If anyone wants it I'll put the money toward the F1.4
