i've got 10 speed sram on my commuter - can i use any 10 speed bar end shifter with these, or does it need to be sram as well?

Has to be SRAM, unless you want to get involved in cable throw amplifying doodads.

You can get a set of SL500 10-speed shifters for £30 on eBay if you're willing to wait a while for a good deal
