I think I've also decided that I'll be going for a dynamo hub. Seems to only cost 0.5-2% of your energy, which is 100km over the course of the entire race. I feel like it would save a lot of stress and avoid some bad / time-wasting situations. Plus I am sure almost everyone will be racing with one so everyone will be on a level playing field in that regard anyway.
I've just ordered some juicy deep rims. I think these should do the trick? They seem to come up as the best performing hubs everywhere I look. Unless anyone has any info to the contrary?
