Ive had real issues with apple chargers breaking, I've been through 5 in 6 years, they replaced 3 for me in one go as I went in with 4 broken ones and said you's can't tell me these are good and I refuse to buy another then they sorted me out.
I think its just the tugging at them all the time that makes the wires become exposed or has done with mine anyway.
