You got warranty? Some ti cracks and others doesn’t it seems. Would be really interesting to find out how that relates to quality control. There have been a few cracked Burls (all warrantied) but never heard about a cracked Pretorius.

stop doing crack

With 45mm tyres, I wouldn't be able to tell what the frame was made of. AT is lighter and £1000 cheaper too.

YouTube comments somewhere mentioned FD band on. No idea of diam.
I already have front wheel, will need rear built and it will be DT Swiss or Shimano and will definitely not have any cheap Chinese carbon rim.
As for looks, I really liked my old 4S in grupetto colours. If there's another Kinesis that's of any use to me and doesn't cost me another grand while looking nice please tell me.

Jack said the v1 Tripster cracked at down tube but V2 is like 2kg frame so presumably less likely to crack.
-
• #132
I thought your front was a Chinese rim built onto SP.

How about a custom job? The Stayer Chigzag is very nice, I tried one the other day with 650b rubber and it was tons of fun. Toying with the idea of getting one myself, with track ends :)
Would let you dial in the geometry perfectly and have nice things such as internal routing for the rear light.

It is which is why I don't want another one.
-
• #135
Well I will still need to race on something but for now this is a warranty job for the dead 4S

• #136
u want aero? Velocity Aileron are nice semi-aero rims, I think you've had them in the past?
-
• #137
Yeah, my front wheel was based on that rim before I destroyed it in a crash and replaced it with the DTSwiss 511db rim. It would make sense to use another 511 for matching set.

Couldnt really figure out if you are set on a frame yet:

Really road oriented though. But it fits long and low (553/393) category and is kind of cheap.

Yeah I got warranty on my alu kinesis, that was less than a year after purchase with less than 2k miles on it.
Kinesis were good, I chatted to them a bit via Facebook and they claimed to have pre-approved my warranty replacement etc but I had to get the replacement through PBK who were useless, took ages to do anything and couldn't find the frame Kinesis had shipped to them to send on to me.

£320 50x25mm Chinese carbon (cn*carbon/carbon speed cycle) have sorted me out for 3 or 4k miles so far and I'm fatter than you.

My issue is the Light Bicycle rim doesn't seat normal clinchers properly. It's why I moved it over to tubeless (and then promptly snapped my frame which means I've never used it tubeless).
Never had the issue with any other rim so I will not be using cheap Chinese carbon again.

I will not be using cheap Chinese carbon again.
Not fair to judge LB based on that. Maybe its just meant for tubeless, they have non-tubeless rims too.
Its not necessarily cheap chinese carbon anymore, LB wheelset easily sets you back £600+ these days.
Its really good quality stuff that is relatively cheaper.

Of course it's fair to judge them on that. In 30 years of riding I've never had the same issue with any other rim. They're "tubeless ready" which means they should still work normally with normal clinchers. Cheaper Chinese Carbon. Cheap Chinese Carbon. Cheapest Chinese Carbon. I won't be partaking in more.

I've asked for a Tripster AT in lello. I'm going to need a new rear wheel for it to work.
-
• #147
If I've already got a DTSwiss 350 135x5mm rear wheel, this video seems to show that I can change it to 142x12 TA with new end caps, so maybe I don't need a whole new wheel?
-
• #148
so maybe I don't need a whole new wheel?
big maybe
check the charts on DT site for compatibility

• #149
Well the video is showing a 350 hub, which is what I have.
"DT Swiss 350 (Hugi system) rear disc Centre-Lock hub 32 hole 135 / 5 mm black"What compatibility am I looking for?

loads of versions of 350 hubs out there for example the 15x100 350 hub cant be converted to 12x100
My only concern with Kinesis Ti is the three year warranty. I've cracked my 4S disc and from what I've seen of Ti generally it's kinda liable to cracking at welds so I'd want them to back up it with something longer than 3 years...
