So looking for some ideas... I have decided for a big birthday in a few years to start saving for a once in lifetime watch, and was looking for some inspiration, my criteria are;
- Not a dress watch ( I have an old Omega for that)
- Something to be worn everyday
- Around 40mm
- Steel bracelet
- Waterproof
- Clean dial, so not a chrono or diver
- Not fussed about date, and hate date bubbles
- Not scared of a bit of colour, but nothing too crazy
- Budget somewhere around £5 to 6k
Currently leading the race is a Rolex Milgauss with blue dial and the green glass, this has the added bonus of a vague family connection as my grandad used to design power stations so the anti-magnetic plays to that.

But I am open to being wowed by your ideas...

Now they've cleaned up the branding on the dial, the Grand Seiko Snowflake is an absolute winner

I actually really like that, will add it to my list to try on. Being a massive geek I love the detail of the spring drive as well.

My SBGA031 arrived at my mums yesterday and my SBGV019 is on the way from the US.

Stipulation for my first GS's is that they had to have the OG dials, I love SEIKO at 12o'c, I think it balances the dial depending on the model. Plus if anyone asks what I'm wearing I can say "it's just a Seiko".

I need more undercover watches in my life.
