  • So looking for some ideas... I have decided for a big birthday in a few years to start saving for a once in lifetime watch, and was looking for some inspiration, my criteria are;

    • Not a dress watch ( I have an old Omega for that)
    • Something to be worn everyday
    • Around 40mm
    • Steel bracelet
    • Waterproof
    • Clean dial, so not a chrono or diver
    • Not fussed about date, and hate date bubbles
    • Not scared of a bit of colour, but nothing too crazy
    • Budget somewhere around £5 to 6k

    Currently leading the race is a Rolex Milgauss with blue dial and the green glass, this has the added bonus of a vague family connection as my grandad used to design power stations so the anti-magnetic plays to that.

    But I am open to being wowed by your ideas...

  • Ugh. So damn pretty.

  • I am not getting involved in the whole Grand Seiko debate again......

  • I actually really like that, will add it to my list to try on. Being a massive geek I love the detail of the spring drive as well.

  • My SBGA031 arrived at my mums yesterday and my SBGV019 is on the way from the US.

    Stipulation for my first GS's is that they had to have the OG dials, I love SEIKO at 12o'c, I think it balances the dial depending on the model. Plus if anyone asks what I'm wearing I can say "it's just a Seiko".

    I need more undercover watches in my life.
