I'd be more concerned about the obsessive journey tracking than looking odd wearing two watches!!

Remember the slide rule talk? Well, another diversion for today:
Had to take home this Altimeter found in a draw at my grandparents. Appears to work, missing the pocketwatch loop for the top.

Glad to see you've made a start!

It is a regular journey - 30 mins walking and i am interested in my heart rate on it as i do it most weeks. Obviously, there is beer at the end!!

But less of an oddball than with both of them on the same wrist.
Where's your swag?

How about using your phone to track journey while it is connected to a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. While it may be seen as a little odd to wear a HRM for a 30min walk (and potentially left on all day), IMO it's not half as odd as wearing two watches.
Also, I reckon once you've done this for a few days and seen that your HR pattern is the same each day, you would lose interest in monitoring HR so carefully (unless you have a funky HR!) Could use the HRM for other activities too.

Fair point. I guess once i have done the walk a few times the reasoning has gone to wear the Apple Watch. Thanks for that.
This is the Apple Watch and my current favourite watch.

No protective cover and not a scratch or dint (touches wood). Selector wheel was a bit sticky for a while after the baby puked on it!

Ohh wow, that is one lonnggg case.

Thanks. I’ve been looking at a couple of covers - one makes it look like a G-Shock (cover and strap) the other is a plain plastic cover. I’m slightly worried about the squash games and only really need the cover for it.

So looking for some ideas... I have decided for a big birthday in a few years to start saving for a once in lifetime watch, and was looking for some inspiration, my criteria are;
- Not a dress watch ( I have an old Omega for that)
- Something to be worn everyday
- Around 40mm
- Steel bracelet
- Waterproof
- Clean dial, so not a chrono or diver
- Not fussed about date, and hate date bubbles
- Not scared of a bit of colour, but nothing too crazy
- Budget somewhere around £5 to 6k
Currently leading the race is a Rolex Milgauss with blue dial and the green glass, this has the added bonus of a vague family connection as my grandad used to design power stations so the anti-magnetic plays to that.
But I am open to being wowed by your ideas...

Now they've cleaned up the branding on the dial, the Grand Seiko Snowflake is an absolute winner
Hodinkee recently did a 'week on the wrist' bit on it: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/grand-seiko-spring-drive-snowflake-review

I actually really like that, will add it to my list to try on. Being a massive geek I love the detail of the spring drive as well.
The most famous double watch of all...
