Warning for potentially dodgy statistics.
"More than 2,300 EU academics have resigned from British universities over the past year amid concerns over a “Brexodus” of top talent in higher education.
New figures show a 19 per cent increase in departures of European staff from universities last year compared to before the EU referendum, and a 10 per cent rise from some 2130 resignations in 2015-16."
As one uni says they are also recruiting more. But, a lot of university jobs require travel/working abroad, so it's probably not completely empty speculation.

The EU gets on with preparing for Brexit, and, as you would, a 'no deal'. David Davis gets upset.

I was about to post that. Unbelievable... I like the line where he says he's discussed with lawyers who said the chances of a successful legal challenge were low. No shit

It is almost as those Europeans with a post-Brexit responsibility to the EU27 read and take notice each time one of the fruitcake brexitters demand 'a No Deal brexit'.

Are Davis and Hammond pleading with the Germans to help them get out of their Brexit hole there? Because that's what it looks like...

Leadsom on BBCR4WatO,
Still doesn't seem to understand that leaving doesn't mean 'almost In'.
Eschewing the Customs Union, Single Market & the ECJ and expecting the EU27 to set up some other court of arbitration!
As a German politician was quoted earlier; 'still cake and eating it'. -

Effects are, unfortunately, already biting. Company I work for already seeing projects being postponed at a rate comparable with 2008 (and that was all such fun.) Thanks brexiteers, really appreciate all your help.

I don't think it's a political decision - remember he has no political responsibility (or even interest, I imagine).
Russian investigations getting a bit close for comfort? Realisation that bribes / interview fees will dry out once Brexit / EU off the table.

UK in push to remain part of EU medicines agency after Brexit
Call to still be under bloc’s rules follows that from chemicals and aviation sectorsBritain is pushing to remain under EU regulation for medicines after Brexit, in the latest sign that ministers want to stay close to Europe in some sectors despite the bloc warning that the UK cannot cherry-pick parts of the single market.
The move follows calls for the UK’s chemicals and aviation industries to continue to be regulated by EU agencies, keeping them within Europe’s standards and safety regime and under the auspices of the European Court of Justice.

Yes, Huffington Post I apologize...
I'm not sure what to think of a second referendum TBH. It seems Labour will now finally actually really vote AGAINST a Brexit bill though. They have a sore bum from the fence-sitting by now.

I think he's decided the EU negotiating tactics of (a) sticking to what they always said, and (b) not bending over backwards to give us a better deal than we had when we were in, are cementing the leavers' position and turning off wavering remainers. At this point there's a likelihood the leave majority will be higher whereas if there is another ref when the actual deal is on the table, there's a good chance leave will lose.
If there's a second ref now and leave win, we almost certainly won't have a third on the final deal no matter how dreadful it is. If there is a second ref now and leave lose, Farage gets to carry on doing the same lucrative thing hes been doing for years.
Basically win win for him.
It applies very widely.
