  • Dunkirk - Looked pretty, but had no feels for any of the characters, therefore wasn’t particularly gripping.

  • Dunkirk

Found myself enjoying this. It is more about time and true events than characters (there is next to no dialogue) but that seemed fitting.

With a couple of exemptions it wasn’t too heavy-handed in the Hollywood stylisations (dat gliding bit tho).

I’m a sucker for Nolan’s films. Memento is the shit.

  • This was my takeaway as well. Looking forward to getting back to business as usual, Nolan fucking my mind, hard.

Molly's Game - Fun to be had, a few minor gripes but an entertaining retelling of Molly Bloom's story. As a footnote - Jessica Chastain looks fucking incredible in it.

All the Money in the World - Christopher Plummer as JP Getty is truly excellent and more fitting in the role than Spacey was I reckon. Apparently Ridley Scott wanted Plummer originally but had to bow to financier demands for a bigger name. I don't find hostage/ extortion based flicks that appealing so there wasn't much there for me personally on the plot front but performances are impressive throughout, especially Michelle Williams.

Jonesing hard for Three Billboards and Lady Bird.
