  • The real problem at Waterloo bridge is the entrance/exit - the bridge itself is fairly civilised.

    The south end has some crap proposals that'll keep it nice and dangerous (mostly by retaining the pinch points where the road drops to the current roundabout), and the North end will remain congested with buses - it's one of the few places where when a painted cycle lane (between the lanes) would really help as it's impossible to filter through at present so people take all sorts of bizarre risks.

  • It's always had one of those, though it's just been widened and a right filter lane removed. From recent experience it doesn't help much more, especially at rush hour.

    Ideally, the north end would have the link to the Strand as buses only with a cycle track on the left with private vehicles being forced down into the underpass.
