  • I had a pair of these forks. The metal dropouts came unbounded from the carbon fork legs, luckily as I was taking the wheel off, not whilst I was riding. I have no idea if that's a common issue with them but maybe it's a problem with carbon forks of that age!

  • I have a pair of older straight bladed Time carbon forks with a steel threaded steerer on my Argos. I've been getting more and more concerned by the flex/judder under braking but had hoped that it was more likely to start cracking than spectacularly fail.

    Your story makes my stomach turn.

    I don't think that's debonding, it look more like a simple fatigue fracture of the dropout, aided by some corrosion judging by the state of it.
