    Running a big cog so you can run a big ring always feels like stuffing your trousers.

    Trying to run a 14 or 15t cog and having to use a 46t chainring looks ridiculous.
    Bigger gears are more efficient than smaller ones of the same ratio.

    I'm not saying you're wrong, cause I heard this argument a lot. But I always wonder if this is really so.. To me the 11 on my cassette doesn't feel any slower than the others. Had a 1x10 setup for a while where my biggest ratio was 38/11, this didn't seem to be any slower than 50/14 or 50/15.

    Still think both small and big cogs are fine for track bikes.
