It's a giant fish finger.
Tilikum was a killer whale that killed a few people then died in captivity from an infection. The public don't know but "infection" = "crumbed and deep fried".

This should be good. I look forward to adding the 'hippy approves' column, filled down with "No".
-
• #56
everyone could have a column!
bike with most votes = you have to buy/ride.
-
• #57
Yeah, I'm fine with that, so long as every vote costs £100 towards paying off the frame.

I am on tenterhooks... did ya get a synapse or not?
-
• #59
I've not got anything yet. Still riding around on a 'bikepackedout' S-Works Tarmac with my old training wheels. When did everything get so fucking gadgety (I'm looking at your Specialized with your bloody dropper posts and suspension front end) and spendy? £9k for a bike? dafuq?
-
• #60
£9k for a bike
gives your life a purpose
-
• #61
I need to stop looking at their complete bikes. I don't want to spend 9k and then pull half the stuff off it to replace it with my own parts.

Who knows anything about OpenUp frames? Riding through the shit yesterday it occurred to me that a bike that could go from 25mm to 42mm tyres would be nice and the OpenUp has been raced in TCR by Ultan I think so it has some race pedigree. 3T Exploro is a similar concept. Both are pretty spendy though.

no mudguard mounts

• #64
There’s also the Hakka MX. Vroomen is partial owner of 3T now so the Exploro is also his design

I have an UP you are more than welcome to have a play on
I’ve found it by far the most comfortable and practical bike I’ve ever owned and it’s not any noticably slower than a 6kg Felt FR FRD I was smashing around on in summer.
I also used it to solve my fat man with no bike problem, or at least im trying to although I’ve only managed to ride it 300km and I’m still getting fatter....

I never had mudguards on my 4SD so that's not a huge issue but something to bear/bare/barre in mind.
-
• #68
Yeah, think I read that on their blurb when I was looking at Henner's one. I have a vague feeling I already dismissed the Hakka but I'll have another look.

So much options of bikes like that, if you have the money, all of them so great that it would be hard to choose the best one, probably nothing wrong with any of them. Mason Bokeh should be nice too and Curve gxr. I just bought a steel Pelago that has geometry close to a classic roadbike, so a bit steeper than the gravelbikes, and can fit 42mm, though it's heavy. Bombtrack has a new carbon frame like that too.

Genesis Datum or Zero Disc?
-
• #71
Do you run it as a road bike or a mtb/gravel thingie?
-
• #72
Datum was on my short list before I bought the Kinesis pre-TCR04 but the frameset is now 2x the price of what it was back then and the paint job is worse than even I'm prepared to deal with. Zero Disc?
-
• #73
Zero disc looks similar but more road than adventure. I guess less clearance
-
• #74
And it came in safety black

I'll have a look at those. They need to meet my awkward geometry requirements and any other arbitrary rulings I make, like, no green bikes for January or whatever. ;)
Tbh i don't even know what the fuck that is they're holding between them, but I'd still go into a rage feed session on whatever that is. Looks delicious.
