Kingswan on TTF has built something that removes the angle on the Ventus pads
The current state of play seems to be that he's having trouble getting them made at a viable price. They also do exactly what I said I'd like to avoid, which is to raise the mounting height of the pad relative to the extension.
Kingswan on TTF has built something that removes the angle on the Ventus pads with then makes them compatible with other makes of pad (http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/120877-aero-bar-wedges-to-angle-the-aero-pads-up/&). Is that what you're looking for?
I found that thread because I was looking for something to angle the pads on the Ventus IIs and it looks to me like he's developing something for that too, however it adds stack which I'd like to avoid.
