• @lynx ive read a few people saying to stay clear of adjustable drop links as they can make handling worse for a reason I can't remember, with regards to MX-5's. Which mounts specifically should I check?

Thanks for the heads up on the oil, will take a look although not sure I can muster up the enthusiasm to do it again. Bought enough to do the gearbox too so will most likely see how I go for now atleast.

Centre Gravity back up what you've heard - adjustable drop-links are for bodgers, they disguise an inability to setup the suspension correctly in the first place.

  • @Dammit

This is news to me. I used to have adjustable drop links the only reason I don’t have them now is because I bought cheap ones and they rusted away.

It was my understating that lowering a car reduces the distance between the two drop link mounting points and if you don’t fit shorter drop links then you’re preloading the ARB causing a stiffer ride and also not allowing the ARB to do its job properly.

What have you guys learnt that negates that theory?

Also good job on the coilovers! Need a hand fitting them?

  • If you are fitting adjustable ride height suspension, you should fit adjustable drop links to keep the ARB in the correct place. If you are looking for help, look at the reason the roll bar is there and how it works.

EDIT: Or just listen to NurseHoliday as he is right.
