If you mould the guard (but leave it intact), you may find it fouls the tyre.
Cutting the front of the mudguard off seems a little drastic (not to mention counter-productive).
I'd trim the guard where it meets the forks. Depending upon how much you have to remove, you might need to bodge a stiffener to prevent the nose drooping.
What's best option if mudguard cross section does not match fork crown radii? Any lower and it fouls on tyre.
Mould with heat, cut sides or cut nose off..?
