    Yes, I think that odd mark, like the one on the end of the crank by the pedal eye which @umop3pisdn showed, is a feature not a bug. Something very strange has to happen to the flow of the metal as they form the hollow up the length of the crank, and it's impossible to get it to join up in nice neat lines.

    One more question: can anyone ID this fork?

    A friend picked it up for cheap thinking it was for a Crux but it's a few centimeters too short. I'd like to pass it on to someone that has a use for it, but knowing what it is would be useful. Looks like it might clear a 32mm slick, it has a tapered steerer, QR dropouts, post mount disc mounts, internal routing. Initial thoughts would be a Roubaix, but I can't find any examples to confirm this.
