Negative, everything else looks well finished/crack free. The photos showing for me now.
I'm hoping they just didn't bother tidying up the inside of the spider, hence the mark. I've got another set of the same cranks, and on closer inspection they do have a similar line, though not exactly the same.

Ah, photo isn't loading up. It's right down by the axle, there are two straight casting lines which run down from the chainring bolt holes, then a irregular semi-circle between them. I'll try and get photobucket to play ball, file size may be too large.
