Import Charges

Posted on
  • So I bought something from switzerland and I knew it would have import fees on it.

It came via TNT and there was nothing when delivered, then a month later I get a invoice for £185 the value of the item is 500 swiss franc which is like £385 quid. Now I think they have over charged me personally. I think it should be like a £100 roughly at most.

Is there anyway I can argue this that its too much or am I gonna have to just pay it and be shafted?! I know i can't get away with paying nothing as they will just take me to small claims court if I ignore it.

    Thanks in advance.

  • thats too much, never had experience importing to that country but seems like they tryna joke with you

  • What was it that you imported? And what was the declared value of goods, insurance and freight?

    I'll tell you exactly

  • It was a monitor video recorder
    Original value 500 CHF
    GBP Value £368.70

I think postage was 98 CHF

Insurance says 0 on the form, tbh the forms are super confusing from TNT.

Also the item might be going back as its faulty, so where would that leave me too?

  • Bump before I accept it.
