Could be made prettier and lighter. Carradice actually had another model of bagman that had those struts. It was made of alu. I had one of those, it broke but I kept those parts.
And yes there is spare spokes taped to the seatstay.
@amey Seatpost is Kalloy, also sold as Gran compe and some other brands I think.
Crankset is the same Sugino xd2 I've had on a couple of bikes before this. Because I like square tapers.
Front mech is the new version of Shimano 105, 5801. It doesn't have that long arm the older model had, that would rub the tyre. Band on.
The strut on the bagman makes it stiffer, it doesn't sway even with a geavier load, and makes sure the bag can't touch the tyre, as there's only a few centimeters between. Also, rear light is attached to the end of that strut, under the bag.
I haven't had Shimano calibers, only bought the levers. I've heard many have had problems with leaking seals on Shimano calibers, so why not try something else, Hope should be good... And then one of the calibers I got had a leaking seal on one of the pistons. Leaking a lot. I got a warranty replacement and now they are really good, but I can't really compare.
