Yeah if anything it's done wonders for his reputation. Before watching The Disaster Artist I considered TW a talentless hack whose film became a classic through dumb luck. I feel completely different about him now, although still pretty confused..
Speaking of changing perceptions, I watched Good Time and it turns out Robert Pattinson is actually a great actor.
It goes close to that for sure hence the confusion for me. Didn't know about the guy beforehand but it was sympathetic overall. For all his apparent faults I was left feeling he was more inspiration than clown. Ach, it needs a viewing. Entertaining if nothing else and a lovely brief use of Faith No More.
