Also the fork with its hydraulic hose attach to the inside of the fork mean it get in the way, only the latest CAAD12 with thru axle routed it internally.

Cross chain 😵

Cross chain 😵
SRAM encourages it (literally):
So we would encourage your readers to ride big-big if they like, as long as they don’t experience chain rasp on the front derailleur cage. SRAM 2x11 drivetrains, specifically the Yaw front derailleurs, are designed to accommodate this.

Almost, I was in 2nd :) but SRAM front shifting is ok at best so the less I have to do it the better. “Pro gear” I believe Sram call big-big ;)

SRAM front shifting is ok at best
it's pretty great when you set it up correctly. Even with non sram rings

This.
Just gotta follow manual and you’re sorted.
Prefer SRAM shifting, Shimsno just made their more and more complicated just so they can “trim” it.

Weighed this morning at a slightly disappointing 7.9kg with pedals (obviously) and cages
I suppose that’s not bad considering it’s got spyres as well.
Few changes before it’s done anyway. I’ve got latex tubes to go in at the weekend and I’m thinking of a 0 offset seatpost. I’m feeling a bit too far back with the set back one, especially using the Power saddle with a very short nose.
I think Dammit broke a hylix one on this iirc but I might give one a go -

That paints probably worth 400g
Got some nitro mors left over if you want to shave some grams? -
• #563
Haha thanks. I expect one day in the future it will be changed. Someone did say it was “fucking awesome mate” this morning though.
But it ain’t no weenie. Just hoped for more like 7.5 -
• #564
looks ace. does the rear disc work ok?
-
• #565
Awesome, I was worried this wouldn't live up to the OG build but you've put in the effort and nailed it. Good work!
-
• #566
That's a damn good weight. The top of the line Dura ace disc weights a claimed 7.64 with no pedals or cages. Aren't the spyres lighter than hydros anyways?
-
• #567
Yeah it’s good actually. The DA9000 cables are really very good. Not as stiff as other compressionless. But the only tight bend is where it comes out of the chainstay.
They actually need a bit of adjusting, having suffered some very poor weather riding over Christmas they’re not as good as they should be -
• #568
Seriously cool. As above, don't underestimate the weight of the paint!
-
• #569
Probably as a system yeah. I wouldn’t mind some of the hybrid ones. Yokozuna or Juintech. I think they’re slightly lighter too.
The wheels aren’t particularly light either. Between 16/1700g
I guess with a carbon shell/railed saddle, carbon 6 bolt wheels, ti speedplays and few other bits and bobs, it could go under 7.5 -
• #570
Very nice indeed. Can we have some more photos please?
-
• #571
I want the purple one really :)
Yeah I'll get the camera out at the weekend.

I saw on instagram, a group of guys in melbourne started a caad society. Its basically just a few guys, 4 or 5, going on group caad rides.
Enough interest in London for a Caad ride?

Yokozuna or Juintech
Same thing, although the Yoko look much nicer in black or pewter.
Bit pricey though: R1 are £150 a pair (with rotors) vs. £130 each (with rotor and Yoko cable).

• #574
Juin tech doesn't sound nearly as cool
-
• #575
Time for a list? Also, this is how I know how much paint weighs..
V nice, good work!
