I said they're more likely to fail at the bond (than where the tyre rub is), which isn't the same as saying they're safe. I've seen one photo on the internet: how could I (or anyone else) possibly know that?
If you have any doubts about them, it's best to err on the side of caution: I'd hazard that I'm closer to the grave than you are, so likely more reckless with regards to my welfare!
