scratched carbon fork

It's more likely to fail at the bond between the crown and the legs.

It's a columbus air tusk, it's metal in that place afaik, so You think it's safe?

They have an aluminium crown, to which carbon legs are bonded: you can see the position of the bond where the lacquer has cracked in a horizontal line.

I said they're more likely to fail at the bond (than where the tyre rub is), which isn't the same as saying they're safe. I've seen one photo on the internet: how could I (or anyone else) possibly know that?

If you have any doubts about them, it's best to err on the side of caution: I'd hazard that I'm closer to the grave than you are, so likely more reckless with regards to my welfare!

Dunno but I’d ride it

I'd be more worried about the crack in the paint/lacquer that runs around the back of the fork leg, possibly on the line where carbon meets ali.

I might be being over cautious though.

@Scilly.Suffolk I have already replaced the fork, it's just lying around and I'm thinking of wether to sell it or put it on a beater, I totally agree with You, better to have a good fork lying around than finding urself with a "leftie" while bombing down a hill :D

@M_V Thanks for pointing that out, yeah it looks nasty effective with a flash, but is completely invisible for the naked eye under normal lighting. Also might be just one of my dog's hair :D

I guess I'll keep it as a room decoration then. Too bad, I liked the older design air tusk better than the new, for purely aesthetic reasons tho
